so overall, today was a very rewarding day - 10 hours (exact) of hard work! battalion parade.
got up too early in the morning to meet angela at epping station to catch a bus to city, studied ag notes on the train cos we're cool like that >.> at the bus stop, some tourists talked to us (cos we were wearing the uniform and everything), and when we told them we went to jruse they were like "best school in the state, extremely hard to get in, you must be very smart!" and we were like .. yeah ;) totes. hahaha jokes but seriously it felt so good to hear that .. but yeah, we found a dodgy bus to get on to go to randwick but thankfully it was the right one cos we were a bit late already. we got there and there were quite a few cadets (150ish) but not as much as we expected (600) - which someone said in the cadets group i think haha. i sort of died during the first rehearsal (which was probably the longest cos we kept having to repeat stuff), my legs were so sore from just standing for half an hour and watching the important people do stuff (trust me guys, standing is more tiring than marching). me and angela noticed a lot of super awesome / weird last names (cos most cadets have a label on their shirt that says their name) including: 'SLY', 'CANNON', 'FRIEND', and ... wait for it ... wait for it ... wait for it ... 'BOSS'. LOL SERIOUS someone's name was Boss - I wanna marry that guy hahahaha. But yeah, practised a few more times, lunch was such a rip off - sausage sandwich for $10, so me and angela ended up getting 3, which was still not worth $10 but better than only getting 1. soon enough it was the real thing and thank god the reviewing officer decided not to read his speech (or did he have a speech in which he didn't plan to read his speech? speech-ception...) so it was not much longer than the rehearsal - it was meant to be 1.5 hours but it was only 48 minutes :) we decided to leave right away cos we wanted to get home to study ag, so we took the first bus back to central - i swear we were treated so much nicer because of the uniform, the driver decided to let us ride for free, an old man saluted us and an old woman moved next to another person so we could sit together. so after we got back to central we decided to take an elevator down to the station and then walk up some stairs which led us to the exact same place we were in just after we got off the bus -.- we decided to go to chinatown for these custard puffs, but the line was so line so we just went into the next store and bought little cakes which were only $1.30! and then we pretty much slowly made our way back to the station. we got a lot of stares because of the uniform == also i think we saw a rally - like people holding up signs, one of which said "FREE CHINA" which i don't understand cos china isn't in any emergent trouble right now i think? but yeah, we got back to the train station, we decided to wait for one of the slow trains, and got off at strathfield. there was a train going to epping in like a minute so we ran up a very steep ramp to be greeted by doors closing and a train slowly moving off .. so we had to wait 10 minutes for another one. sort of studied on the train back, gave angela a ride home, and that is the end of my story today :)
i also had kfc when i went home but i felt major fat so i was sort of half-jogging while eating a piece of chicken, watching himym. it's nice that no one can see me at home .. also, i was really thirsty so i poured water into a cup but it was really hot and it takes ages for it to cool then so i was like FFS and started drinking a soft drink .. the fact that i have no cavities is probably going to change soon. i also have a triangular sun burn on my chest == it's 8.59pm and i should study ag. bye!
oh and also, today was a really great day, it's nice to get out of the ruse bubble once in a while, everyone should go next year :)
