it just occurred to me -

Us humans really think we're smart. We think we know everything about history and science. But wasn't there a time when Greeks thought the Earth was flat? They thought they knew everything too, and guess how that turned out. We're teaching all of our students to learn this and that about the Earth and light and so on and so forth (and all the fancy names we invented in the process)... wouldn't it be a good laugh if everything was dead wrong? What if light didn't refract? What if total internal reflection never existed? What if the baby developed his/her body systems way before eight weeks? What if spreading boundaries don't make new rocks?

And don't tell me that there's "conclusive proof" telling us all of that is true. Because that's what the Greeks said.
